The Lord's creation is magnificent! All one has to do is step outside their door and be met with the sound of buzzing creatures, flitting butterflies, singing birds, and the beautiful shades of green in the leaves and grasses. My sweet girl, we will call her Butterfly Girl, is no less in awe of her Fathers world when she steps outside or watches from the window. At the tender age of 4 she already appreciates the magnificent beauty of a flower and the wonder of a rainbow. I am doing my best to cultivate and steward a love for all of the least of these in my daughters heart. I grew up LOVING nature; I collected shells, sticks, rocks, bugs and bones. I gathered bouquets of wildflowers and ran up and down the short cut trails in our field. This is what I want for Butterfly Girl! A unique and intimate relationship with His creation. When I think of schooling my children at home I am met with the feeling of freedom that comes along with it. That when we choose, our classroom with have no walls and a ceiling of sky and tree canopy . We will feast on the symphony of the cicadas, the call of the Eastern toad, and the song of the birds that call our yard home. We will study the pattern of a butterfly wing and the whorl of a snail shell. We will read books on a blanket under the trees and stay up late to study the stars. Freedom.
